Frequently asked questions

How do I sign a PDF without printing it?

Open the PDF here, click Sign, draw or type your signature and place it on the page. Then download the signed PDF and send it by email.

Is this a legally valid electronic signature?

It is a simple electronic signature (an image or text of your signature), which is accepted for many everyday documents such as forms, offers and agreements. It is not a certificate-based digital signature; for those, use a qualified e-signature service.

Is it safe? Are my PDFs uploaded?

No upload at all. FileCrafty opens and edits the PDF inside your browser, so contracts, IDs and bank statements never leave your device. The fonts are served by FileCrafty, too — no third-party requests.

Can I reuse my signature?

Yes. Signatures you create are listed under “Use a recent signature” while the page is open. They are not stored anywhere after you close it.

Can I sign on my phone?

Yes — draw your signature with your finger. Tap Focus for a full-screen view so the page is easier to work with.

Is it really free? Are there watermarks?

Yes, it is free with no sign-up, no page limits and no watermark on your PDF.
