Frequently asked questions

How do I crop a photo to a square?

Pick 1:1 Square above the image. The largest possible square is placed in the centre; drag it to the part you want and download.

Can I crop to an exact size in pixels?

Yes. Type the width and height next to Size. With a fixed ratio, the other side updates automatically.

Does cropping reduce quality?

No. The cropped part keeps the original pixels. For JPG output it is saved at high quality (92), and PNG is lossless.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Cropping happens in your browser, so the image stays on your device.

Can I crop a passport photo?

Yes — choose Passport 35×45 to get the standard 35 × 45 mm proportions used in the EU, UK and many other countries.
