FileCrafty Files never leave your device

Compress video

Shrink MP4, MOV and WebM videos to the size you need — for Discord, email or WhatsApp. Free, no sign-up, and your videos never leave your device.

    How to compress a video

    1. Choose a target size (for example 10 MB for Discord or 25 MB for email) — or a quality level.
    2. Drop your videos into the box. They are compressed one by one; keep the tab open.
    3. Click Download next to each video.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I make a video smaller?

Drop it into the box above and choose a target size. The bitrate and, if needed, the resolution are lowered so the video fits the size while looking as good as possible.

Why is my compressed video a bit blurry?

A very small target size for a long video leaves few bits per second. Choose a larger size, a shorter clip, or a lower resolution (720p or 480p often looks sharper than a starved 1080p).

    Which format is used?

MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, which plays everywhere. If your browser can’t create H.264, it uses VP9 + Opus in MP4 instead.

    Are my files uploaded?

No. FileCrafty processes video and audio inside your browser using your device’s own media engine, so nothing is uploaded — it even works offline once the page has loaded.

    Which browsers are supported?

Recent Chrome, Edge and Safari work best because they can encode MP4 (H.264 + AAC). Firefox works for most files. On phones, very long or 4K videos may be too big for the available memory.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no fixed limit, but everything happens in your device’s memory. On a computer files up to 1–2 GB usually work; on phones keep videos shorter.
